Used to live near Carlsbad...nice area and the beach is awesome

Well folks, it's time to close the chapter on this incident. I stopped by highway patrol to pick up a copy of the accident report and the findings are that I (the motorcyclist) was the cause of the accident. I was cited for driving too fast in relation to the conditions (traffic, cars moving between 15 - 20 mph). Basically, failure to slow down when she was attempting a lane change WITHOUT a turn signal (which by the way wasn't working because she had been in a previous accident. No one to blame but myself, so take responsibility for my actions. Live and learn, but most importantly, live to see another day. Ride on mi amigos

I honestly canít see what you were doing wrong, although I do not know American law. If her indicator wasnít working due to a previous accident, then she was driving an unroadworthy vehicle, therefore shouldnít have been on the road anyway.

I agree to this point. If seen cops charge for not having a completely functioning car

They are citing my speed for the conditions. I agree with you...if she had a functioning turn signal, I see it, I slow down, she makes the lane change, we are good to go. BUT...
