New Chain and Sprocket

Added RK Racing Chain GB520GXW-120 120-Links Gold XW-Ring Chain with Connecting Link and a front sprocket.

Was the front sprocket worn? Or did you want to change gearing? It seems unusual for the front sprocket to wear before the rear.

How many miles did you get from the OEM chain?

12,200 miles out of the OEM chain...but I have to admit, poor preventive maintenance on my part for the chain. Front sprocket was ok, rear sprocket already switched out to aftermarket. And the front sprocket came in a kit (package) from the dealer.

12k from a factory chain isn't that bad. My Bandit ate it's chain about 7500.

I hear you, but I do need to do a better job of chain maintenance. I'll learn from my buddy on proper technique, brush, lube/wax, etc.

In my experience front sprockets nearly always wear out before the rear. Not surprising really, they go round about twice as fast.
