Anyone had a 9k service?

I am just about 5k miles and one year of ownership. My dealer said oil change/yearly was 350$. That's quite a bit for an oil change so I'm going to do it myself. What worries me is next year I'll be at that 9k service which requires the spark plugs be changed. Has anyone had that service and how much was it? Thanks

Was the primary reason for purchasing a new Ducati, to save money?

I do almost all of my own maintenance. Most of it is easy.

Between my friend and myself, I've changed 6 tires so far this year. Rears cost us about $145, fronts about $120. So about $265 for a set. Price a set at the dealership, and you start to get the picture.

I was quoted $350-$400 to replace Timing belts, plus I would have to take the bike there, and pick it up. I did it for about $110 at home one rainy evening. Wasn't hard.

Do it yourself.

My 5K service cost me £276, that about $350. I also think it's ridiculous but with the bike being in warranty I didn't have much option. About £70 was for materials, oil/filter/gaskets, the rest was labour

If you're paying $350 for an oil change, be prepared for a second mortgage when it's time to change cam timing belts.

What are you guys paying for a set of tires at the dealership?

Yeah thatís also what I have been quoted for the annual service (£276) - Iíve done about 6500 miles. The bikes been in the workshop for 5 weeks now... O-ring, fork seal, front pads and discs (all warranty work) and the outstanding recalls. Got a scrambler (cafe racer) as a loaner itís fine but itís no Supersport! Canít wait to pick mine back up - hopefully next weekend!

Spark plug replacement is not part of the 9k service unless the dealer opts to recommend it. Mine cost $413.74.

Are you talking about the 1000kms service, that seems a little high. Wait until you get to the Desmo valve service...you will be looking at a couple of grand for that one.

What’s the desmo service? Is that the valve check service?
