Emergency check your kickstands

I was lubing my chain and put my bike on the rear stand. When I moved the kickstand out of the way I noticed it was extremely wobbly. I checked it and the main bolt that holds it in place was completely out. The only thing that stopped it from falling out was the pivot for the stand itself. The second bolt there was loose as well. Please check yours ASAP my dealership says 30ft lbs plus locktight...

The side stand on my Scrambler did the same thing. I kicked it down one day and the whole thing, bracket and all, swung forward. It's something I check regularly now.

Yep, happened to me, too.

So, lemme get this straight.

I twist this little tube, it gets loud, I go forward really fast and it makes me smile...is that how it all works?

Yup, the primary bolt with the 8mm hex head was loose on mine too. Tightened it up and will be getting some thread locker.

Thank you for pointing this out.

Mine seems to be on snug also. Just a question though. Is it normal for only a couple lines of thread to be sticking out beyond the last bolt? For example there is very little amount of thread sticking out.. I think my bolt is in as far as it go.
