I have two Guzzis with 46k and 68k miles respectively, I use Castrol motorcycle synth blend (SG) (20-50). The Bandit has 82k miles on it and I use motorcycle conventional (SG) (10-40). The SS has 10k on it and I am still exploring what to do.
Just keep doing what you've been doing. all the bikes you've owned are made of the same materials and have similar enough tolerances. It's not like one oil will make that much of a difference with the SS motor.
Rotella T6 is diesel engine oil. It's super common among motorcyclists around the world. It's cheap and it works; that's why I use it. No point in spending more for the same result unless it's just for one's own peace of mind.
I see there's some validity when I hear people say those Americans are crazy.

Not in the UK. I've never heard of anyone using it. Most riders use motorcycle specific oils, especially with a wet clutch. I might think of using it in a Guzzi or an air-cooled BMW engine but not in a high performance engine like Ducati.
Cheap bastards in Finland like to use Mobil Delvac, also a diesel oil. Very cheap, propably still works alright. Many swear by it, but I would't put it in my bike as the cost in buying oil is irrelevant.
