Oil consumption

After 4200 km since first service I found oil level under minimum. I added almost 0.2 liters and now level is between the two lines.

Other cases of oil consumption?

I did not notice on mine, I shall verify the level of oil. I think that you should not worry. Make a new level control, in the conditions identical to those when you noticed the low level. At this moment, you will be fixed if consumption of oil or not.

Thanks for mentioning Dany. I didn't think to check the level often because my Scrambler does not consume barely a drop of oil with almost constant upper rev riding.

But at 2500 (total) miles, my SS is approaching the lower level mark. I do run the motor briskly and into the upper RPM ranges each time I ride...but never abuse it.

Wow, this is something we all will need to monitor. I had my first service done by the dealer and forgot to check the level beforehand. Will monitor for sure, now. I don't show any burnt oil residue on the pipes....I know that much, though.

I seem to be using a bit of oil... I have 8500 kms on my bike now and since the first oil change I probably put in a quart. I just did another oil change so we'll see what happens. Using Motul 300V 15-50 which seems to be what a lot of the guys in the US are using! (I'm in Canada)

I have a warranty claim in for the seal on the casing where the breather pipe connects to the casing. Messes oil after every ride. Claim has been approved to replace the fitment and seal.

I have looked my bike over and over. I don't have any dripping oil anywhere. If I'm using some, it's being burned not dripped.

OH!!! I have the same issue and told them about it and they took pictures. They tightened the bolts a bit to make sure they were good. They said to just monitor it but I noticed yesterday it's just as bad! I'm glad someone else has noticed this!

I'll show them this!

Looked at the bike, and it's that vertical tube that snakes down almost S shaped on the right side? Correct?

No leaks from mine, at least not yet.
