2022 Supersport 950 S Exhaust Options

I recently bought a 2022 Supersport 950 S, and, despite promising myself I wouldn't spend a fortune adding bits and pieces that I won't recoup when I sell it, I've already added a tail tidy and windshield, and now fancy doing something with the exhaust.

I like the pops on the overrun that the stock exhaust gives, but would prefer it to look at bit better, and the pipes to be a little louder (maybe removeable dB killers?) - I understand the Akra slip-on doesn't really add much to the sound.

Obviously, it needs to be road legal here in the UK, and, if possible, I'd rather it not: i) require a tune/flash; and, ii) be too expensive. So I guess I'm looking at a slip-on, which is fine as I'm not really looking to improve performance.

I was wondering what my options are, please?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Idk if the programming differs at all, but mine is the standard Euro 5 version for Germany (and the rest of Europe).

Today was the first real ride with the new Akra 3/4 system and let me just say this is the sound that first made me fall in love with the Duc! Oh how have I missed that. Baffles will definitely stay in as I can’t imagine what she’d sound like without, as this is perfect. Many turned heads today on deceleration pops and gurgles and she sang like an operatic legend! Yes expensive, but damn…😁

Hello Everyone

I have, as some other lucky of you, the full Akrapovic system on my bike, and even with DB-killers it is a bit too loud for me. I know, getting old and everything, but my main problem is that it resonates in my helmet on longer trips. I have replavced the DB-killers with custom ones, longer, perforated and different end cap. It is a bit more quiet, but not enough.

Does anybody know if the baffles are packed? To me it looks like there is no sound isolation inside the end baffle, but it should be, right?

Any other ideas?

I have attached pictures of the new db-killer. One note: These are without end cap, the ones I use have end cap, meaning that there is a perforated part in the front end of the db-killer where the exhaust meets the db-killer. Still I need a bit more DB-reduction.

(Yes, the bike is dirty, but this were the pics I had at hand)

Not sure about the full Akra system, but on an Akra slip on I had on my GSXR600 the baffle was just a tube with perforations in it the same as yours.
I may be wrong, but I doubt if the baffle could be packed too much if at all, as they exhaust gases still need to escape
Do you wear ear plugs when you ride?

Yes, I have good ear plugs. Still the resonance is working its way on longer trips. I really enjoy the bike for longer rides, typically 250 - 500km a day. This is also when the sound gets too much.

I will try this! I have ordered the parts, I guess I will update here in a week or so. I do not have a dB meter, but my phone has an app, so I will try to do some comparing measures, although they will not be accurate, and a "helmet measurement".

I small concern: Will not the sound still go through the DB-killer? It has a cap, but this is perforated, so the exhaust may still go straight through?

MIVV is finally dropping its Delta Race system for the 950, Euro5 legal!

Euro 5 and quiet aren't quite synonyms. Many E5 bikes where louder as their E4 versions (Kawi Z900 for example). So I kinda doub't that it will be that quiet.
Still, I might get one.
But knowing the MIVV perfomance results from the Z1000SX and ZH2, I'll wait until some dyno results are out there. Because both bikes I mentioned lost 5-10% power with street legal MIVV exhausts.
And while I don't have to gain power from the exhaust, I certainly don't want to loose any.

Ah, sorry I thought you meant examples for power loss due to aftermarket exhausts in general. I don't think you'll find any test specific for the 950. Too niche. Most just leave the stock exhausts (which doesn't sound boring imo) or go with the Akra slip on here in Europe.
