Wow, hope it sounds as cool as it looks (most akka's do).
Love those carbon caps on it. Lets see the price tag now lol

I guess I'm mixed on these mufflers. For my money I'd just keep the stock ones and maybe paint them black. I do like the CF heat shield, however, and I'm sure they will improve the sound, but at what cost?

Akrapovic has never been cheap, but you get what you pay for and their products are always top of the line. And it looks great too with that carbon fiber accent.
Plus they hold value well enough so if your like me and only want to have a bike like this for a year or two, come time to sell the akra exhaust, you'll get good money back for it.
I would say somewhere in the $2k-$2500 range ? Give or take as an average.

Ducati's US website says $1299 for the slip-on Akras and $2900 for the full, mid-exit system. Based on that and the fact I'd like to carry passengers occasionally, I think I'll just paint the muffler body (not the silver tips) high-temp matte black.
That's actually not bad at all. Even at $2900 for the mid-exit system. I won't ever have passengers either.

When the bike costs $15k an additional $3k for an exhaust system sounds exorbitant to me, especially when this isn't a track bike where a few extra HP might matter, but if you like it, go for it!

The numbers add up well enough to me. It's just what you have to pay to play. Not for everyone but usually the ones that want it bad enough don't give it a second thought.
For me it's not even really about the power, but it's more for the completing look and sound of it. Considering this is definitely not one of the cheaper bikes on todays vast list, it's something I really don't mind spending another chunk of change on. This is my fun time lol.

That's fair since it's not even slightly the best thing for power gains but it is ideal as part of an overall build, part of many factors that get to that power number you have a as goal.

Are you looking into any other brands or would consider any others? I know Leo Vince is another one?
Inconel is what they make turbocharger exhaust wheels out of, those exhausts may outlast your bike and they generally sound great.

I'm sorry, what exhaust for this bike is made out of Inconel? The stuff is super tough/lightweight, but expensive.
I presume these GP-like full exhausts would be available some day...(?)

I would sure hope so, That's pretty darn gorgeous in my opinion at least. I just love the way the rear end looks when you're watching it dead on from the back.

These will be available from Ducati when the SS arrives in dealerships; they are shown in SS "Accessories" now. No passengers with this setup.

I doubt the lack of a passenger will be anything to worry about and even a simple poll of potential owners and those not nearly as sure will reveal that.

Even just thinking back to all the similar Ducati's you've seen on the street, most likely were 1 up.
