LOL. Of course we can express ourselves without, but it's the spice of a language. It offers exaggeration in expression and reaction, extends the humor in jokes, and is cathartic. It's been proven that smarter people tend to curse more and that curse words help people tolerate pain and emotional moments like when their bike gets stolen. It's also been proven that the number of women who curse is about the same as men.

Cursing is ingrained in all languages across the world and most people use them. I don't think anyone who's in agreement is looking to abuse the ability to do so (except maybe Melba:) ), but generally, people aren't bothered by an occasional WTF or sh*t thrown into a sentence. 1 person here and there may get offended by an occasional curse word, but to have that one person dictate everyone's use of a language is much more offensive to the rest of the population, IMO.
