Back Pack Recommendations

7332 Views 33 Replies 19 Participants Last post by  Ed K
Haven't sorted out yet what I'm gonna do for luggage, so in the meantime I guess will resort to a back pack. I've always had some sort of luggage with various bikes so haven't needed a back pack before...until now.

If there's another thread on this, sorry, please redirect and delete this thread.

What are your recommendations for back packs? Thanks.

This looks perfect for an overnighter or two...

Anyone have one?
I have this one. Was around $100. Love it, but don't know if it's still available. It's called the Rover.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Velomacchi roll top pack, particularly about the shoulder strap system being more ergonomically proper for motorcycle riding. Don't own one personally, but I've seen many positive reviews by people I know and trust.

Thanks Guys, much appreciated.

Any other suggestions for consideration?
I have this one. Its a sport bag, plenty of room. I attached a sternum strap to it. Ive done 60-100 miles with it, without any issues.

Dont mess around, get a krieger. You dont even feel that its there after a while. 10 year warranty. Expensive is the only drawback.

Backpacks are dangerous! If you fell off it can break your back! Use the straps under the seat.

These all look great, thanks guys.

For my immediate intended uses, the Kriega 15 seems the best match.

Will do a short review and post after I've used it a bit.
My favorite. Not expensive. Expands out and has inside pockets. Helmet pocket too. When I ride wearing it I don't even notice it's on.

Kriega 20 is quite small so 15 will be tiny?

All depends on your perspective...and how much you pack on the regular.
@Ed K - post up some pics when you get it. You'll have to strike a pose with it on...lol.

I got the 30, it squishes down nicely empty and is waterproof. As if I'm going to ride in the rain on purpose. lol

Got caught in a torrential downpour for about 30 minutes couple of days ago, and not a drop inside the Kriega 15 back pack.

$50 and it's waterproof. I'm riding up to Alaska next summer and this is what I'll be using. Only downsides so far is that 1) can't use a hydration bladder, 2) less exterior pockets than a regular backpack, 3) it doesn't have padding where it lays on your back to lessen sweating. Crazy bang for your buck, though.

I've had the Ogio Mach 5 No Drag for a couple years and really like it.
