I had my Rosso 111 199/55 rear tyre fitted today. Haven't had time to ride it other than back from the shop but .................. IT LOOKS AWESOME. I will take it easy for the 1st 100km and then put it through it's paces ang see how she handles. I will navigate through the on board computer this weekend and change the tyre settings in the tyre set-up menu. The temperature is starting to rise now just entering spring and into the low 30'c so i think these 190s are going to work well over the next 6 months when the heat gets up to 38c + will keep you posted

Awesome. Now, for the ride impressions. Looking forward to your observations. Keep us posted, for sure.
That looks great - can't wait for the ride report.
@Rhino Coming into spring and 30C, that's called a heat wave in England. The roads would be melting, the government would be thinking about declaring a state of emergency saying the health service can't cope......Oh by the way the tyre looks good, I take it there is plenty of clearance for the bigger tyre.

Yeah plenty of clearance. And when it gets to 30 in the UK everyone still gets on a plane and heads off to Fuerteventura lol. believe it or not one of the most stifling days I've been in was traveling to Gunton park for polo in Norfolk we drove through a storm cloud and the temperature went up rapidly to 38'c the air seemed to be sucked out of the atmosphere very strange. it just seems hotter in the UK.

I think it's the humidity in the UK that makes it seem hotter than it is. I've been in Miami in August, very high humidity but somehow didn't seem as bad also Perth in January that was a perfect temperature for me also very dry.
Look fwd to the report on how the fatter tyre compares to standard.

Why do you need to change the tyre settings in set-up ?? Are they not the same size? 55/17 won't mater if 180 or 190 it should be the same settings.. I'd say only if you go higher or lower size as in up/down then for speedo it will need to be changed.. other wise left/right should make no changes in settings..But yes very interested in what you feel regarding handling

was 38C here today and it's only 3wks into spring. [email protected] it is going to a hot one. Ride 30kph whilst in tyre setting mode, it's all in the book. Let us know how it goes up the familiar road.

Yip that's the way I think about it too and I don't think I need to change anything but.... I will go into the comp anyway (mainly curiosity) and see how its done and if there is a direct pick for the 190:grin2:

Oh no 38 already !!!! I just have this feeling this summer is going to be a bad one Its forcasted to be 40'c in Birdsville on sunday .(inland from me) that over 10'c over standard temps. I think I've done a clever thing with my 190 >:)

Is it your thinking that the wider tyre will be more stable (temp wise) in higher ambient temperatures.
Only benefit is an aesthetic one. Sadly more downsides than up.

Holy sh!t. That's 104°F (40°C). That's even hot for my area. We hit high 90's a few times this year, but didn't break the 100 barrier. Whew...

yes as well as a larger contact patch at 48 deg + lean angle and better tyre wear the Rosso 111 are great but will wear faster in high temperatures . the down side would normally be that the 180 would dip in quicker because it is narrower but not in this case the 190 usually sits on a 6 inch rim but the SS has a 5.5 inch rim which actually results to a rounder tyre curve. So ...........what were the down sides again . Nope I can't think of any. And the bonus this bike looks better with a bigger tyre >:)

1st ride impression of the 190 v the 180 (only riding home no twisties) these tyres feel exactly like the 180. My thug hits were If there was going to be a different it would be in the flick ability and quickness of the drop in but honestly these dip in as quick if not quicker due to the 5.5 inch rim and rounder profile. The real proof will be when I hit the twisties. I'm happy so far now down side yet.
how's it look on the bike as a whole? The closeup pics don't really show the proportions.

It looks good I mean really good loads of people have commented already. Put it this way if I parked my bike next to yours each day at work people would be asking which one is yours the 600 or the 1000 >:) I will check my iPhone I think I took some more photos will post one up
Yes, more pics are required. For research purposes only, of course...:nerd:
