Ducati Comfort Seat

Has anyone looked into purchasing the comfort seat? I assume that our bikes come with the "low" seat and to my bony posterior it's a bit uncomfortable. I also like the fact that the comfort seat is 25mm taller. I'm 6'2" and mostly leg, so the additional height is not a concern. I just want to make sure it's worth the money, though honestly, I feel it's a bargain at $340.

I thought our bikes came with the standard seat. The low seat drops about 3/4" in height, where the comfort seat adds the same. I would have to look at the 'fiche and get the part number of the stock seat then compare it to the low seat. But, I'm drinking a cold one right now and simply don't want to take the time. My Hyper was the way I described, tho. They had three...low, stock, and touring.

Our bikes come with the standard seat. I went for the low seat (being vertically challenged) which lowers 20mm and makes it just a little easier to get one foot down (I never get BOTH feet down and don't really see the need to do that). I would think that the comfort seat would probably give a similar height difference with a plus factor
I tried one out and had mixed feelings about it. It's taller, flatter and firmer, all things I liked. The down side is that because it's taller, flatter and firmer the edges/corners of the pad are really pronounced under your thighs; I'm not sure if that will "break in" and how it will feel on a longer ride. I like the idea of it for the same reasons you do, and I may just bite the bullet on one to find out for myself if those misgivings are valid.
Anyone have a pic on the bike of the comfort?
Thanks for the responses, guys. psyopper, if you do give it a go I'd be very interested to hear what your take on it is. My issue is always my butt rather than my thighs (I know what you mean about the pressure on the high inside of the thighs) so I'm hoping that can be addressed. As for this being 1 of 3 different options, that makes total sense. I'm not worried about the additional height and in face, I sort of like to sit high in the seat (the SS feels a bit low to me) so as long as there in an increase in comfort, I'm without a doubt going to pick one up.
Sorry, Ace, I thought the seat that came standard was the comfort seat. Especially since they included the "bun warmer" feature for free! :)

I am 6'0", you have a couple of inches of height on me. I imagine in your case a taller seat would take away some of the wear and tear on the legs during a long ride. Just make sure you keep the seat warmer intact when you upgrade.

I've got the 2 seats, standard & confort. Confort has 2 centimeters more, so a little bit higher, you feel the difference. It's more comfort, that's sure, for the passenger it's better. Regarding the look, not much difference.
I'll add a picture if you want one.

Doing enough research I think you'll find that most Ducati guys in your position end up getting the seat and have no regret about it afterwards. I remember 1299 guys were super happy about them back when I was considering that bike.
I have comfort seat, I bought it a week ago, but not been able to use it since I'm on vacation for a week.
I also have the comfort seat on my Monster 821 and I think it's worth having.
I can ride with 600 km without feeling uncomfortable.
During my initial SS test (only 30 minutes), I did not think it was a necessary option to get, but after a 200Km ride I changed my mind.
I'm a little bit concerned about the position on the SS wich is more sporty than the monster, maybe the 25mm will add more strain on the wrists.

I'll post a quick feedback when I'm coming back from my vacation.

Does the increase in height put more weight on your hands?

I think it willl, you'll be further away from the handlebar so you'll have to lean forward.
Maybe i'm wrong ^^.

Yes. A little bit.

Seat warmer? Is that the thing that causes my bits to burst into flame when I'm stuck in traffic?

I actually like the additional 20mm of height. I'm sort of oddly proportioned, so I sit almost completely upright with the standard seat and have a few inches between my rear and the seat when I stand. For $340 USD I think it's a good buy from what I'm reading.

This was my impression. The rider position is very comfortable for me so I'm a bit disappointed that the seat makes my butt numb after 4 or 5 hours in the seat. That's of course not Ducati's fault, but I feel like making the seat comfortable for all day rides will make this bike dang near perfect.
Hi ,
As promised, a quick feedback on the comfort seat.
I had my first oil service today so after that I decided to go for a ride to kick the beast a little and went on a 250Km round trip

First, the good part:
The seat is indeed more comfortable (That was the all point I know, at least we've got that one checked), although I find it a little bit harder than my Monster comfort seat. Maybe it'll get better after a little break in period.
No sore buttocks or thighs so I guess that's a win.
Contrary to what's advertised on the Ducati website, the seat cover is compatible with the comfort seat (Which makes me think that nothing changes on the pillion side but I'll get to it later).

Then, the downers:
As expected, the seat is a little higher so it
- Does add a little more strain on the wrists, but nothing you can't handle, especially if you come from the baby Panigale or any sport bike.
- Does render the windscreen a little less effective, but i'm 187 Cm so I think it won't affect everyone (I've got the tinted touring windscreen).

I think the increased comfort is only for the rider. Why do I think so ? The increased 2cm are on the rider side. mostly between the top front and the middle of the saddle. The seat cover fits it like the standard , it means no increased high on this side.
So unless the seat foam is really different from the standard one ,which I don't think is the case, (Same price for the low, comfort and standard seat and Lord knows Ducati ain't giving anything for free) your beloved half won't be happier with it.

So does it worth the shot ?
For me, definitively, I like to do long rides, so sore thighs after only 200 Km was not an option.
Maybe 200€ is little bit high for a seat (I've heard that you can get a customized saddle job with gel inserts and special foam for around 150€) but it does the job.

Good review and thanks. May be an option for me in the future, although my butt kinda likes the standard seat currently.
