Thanks for the review, Tez. This help a lot. Looking forward to the rail removal video.
Had the same rail/luggage on my K12 as the 13. And did the same: left it on since it didn't detract from the bike.

SS rail another story! But only six bolts, not bad at all, especially since my rear pegs are coming off anyway.

Also look forward to the next vid. Thanks.
Definitely, thanks for taking the time to do this video. Very helpful data points.

I think I like the look of the SW-Motech system for the Monster 1200 - it looks more OEM than this does. I wonder if it's compatible at all...
Yes Tez, thanks for the review. That completely seals my decision to go with the Kriega tail pack.

I have SW Motech for my Scrambler and love it. Rails blend well with Scrambler and bags are beautiful. Not sure if rails would look as good on the SS. And they are small capacity. Plenty for a week trip, but it's going to be a bit challenging for a planned 3 week trip on the Scrambler coming up!

I've asked my dealer few days ago for sw-motech. In the shop, I've compared Monster 1200 (not S or R - standard) back with SS one, with optional passenger handles (I've them on my SS), it looks exactly similar, but the dealer doesn't want to officially say it.
He asks me to check this with the tech when I'll go for the service, to be sure if these tails are the same, only the tech can say it, as references could be different for the same item (?).
IMHO, it's identical, so Monster 1200 side bags with mounting system should work on the SS. (see sw-motech site)

I'd like to get one, small side bag but strong, on the left side of the SS (side without exhaust). Just to put my locks (2 or 3... it's Paris and I live in a Fox news 'no go zone' ( :) ) and rain clothes.
I've checked the Kriega US30 & 10 yesterday, nice, but too small for my 3 weeks trips, and too expensive. But good quality and well designed product + nice fit on the SS.

I think I'll keep the old bag I was using on the ST3... around 50 liters, waterproof, 60€ where the US-30 is 30 liters 240€, add 2 US-10 to have 50 liters (around 100€)... expensive solution.

You will be asthonised by how much luggage goes in the Kriega us 30. On my 848 I had sw motech blaze and in the Kriega goes at least the same! Plus is that with Kriega can put more bags together.

My (ex) ST3 with Ubike bag. Simple if you have something to fix straps...
I'd like to find a tank cover for the SS also, as the ST3 has.

I payed us30 115€ and us10 80€
@Addesmo :
Ok, you're certainly right for the price, around 250 was maybe the price for the whole system (US30 + 2xUS10).
But I agree that it's a nice product.
