Exhaust cover/shield loose

I was looking at my engine and noticed a screw laying where one should not be and not attached to anything. It turned out to be from the exhaust shielding. i returned it and then checked the others. They were all loose. I am going to have to get some high temp loctite I guess but for now I just replaced it and tightened them all.

May want to check yours. For reference I have 2900 miles on my bike.

In the pic it is the hex head dead center. One can see the spot it landed and lit in just below it. It was pretty secure in that little spot, lucky for me.

p.s. On a side note one can juuuuuust see the melted glob of plastic/rubber that is he bumper pad on my shock. :) Still awaiting the Ducati solution. They have agreed to correct it....but just don't have a good solution yet I guess.

Thanks, will check.
Yeah, will have to check the tightness. Thanks for the heads up.
Mine not looose, but getting there...no longer fully torqued. Required snugging a bit. Probably would have eventually loosened without tightening up. Thanks buddy. 2500 miles on mine.
Btw, have you guys ever taken the seat off after a spirited ride and felt the underside of the seat? Or, even just touched the foot pegs with your hands...

No, but there was one time when I wasnt wearing my ankle boots and heat was burning hot just above my ankles
Yikes, the last time anyone said that this bike gets too hot it got the Johannesburg guy and Old-n-dumb all worked up about not liking this forum :0

Bare skin near the cat while running, I think any bike will give me the same experience

Thank you for the heads up, @Snowboard Duke! 2,450 miles...3 of 4 heat shield fasteners on my 'S' were not exactly loose, but definitely not tight, either. I snugged them up and will monitor.

YES!! Very hot to the touch. In fact, I take the seat off once I'm home to let the best dissipate better...AND I have a floor fan that I direct at that area to help with cooling.

Wow 😳
@Ed K
Are you referring to the rear pegs or rider pegs.
2 days into spring and it's already 30C / 85F.
Sh!t I am not looking forward to the SS heat experience. Need to find me a ball box and add ice to protect them.

The good news, at least for me, is I rarely feel it and doesn't bother me when underway...

Same. the stupid cat makes everything hot hot to try and burn away those stray VOCs. But...I ride with full gear so I don't really feel it. :) But...I don't think i would leave a phone under there to charge

there is a point to where the bike runs cool. Once you cross that like the bike temp goes up 50 F quickly. Here in NE the temps dont get that hot and the bike stays cooler. When it gets in the 80s F things start cooking.
Checked the heat shield fixing on mine yesterday
All loose
Tweaked them back up ,
Thanks for the heads up
