Exhaust Valve

has anyone removed the exhaust valve? did it reduce heat from the rear header pipe on your calves.
I removed the disk from my m1100evo left the rest in place to look stock it helped with exhaust heat in traffic and made it run better at low rpm 3000-4000 low throttle opening so want to do it to the new ss. The ss demo bike toasted my calves on a cool day.

I removed it from my 848 SBK, and would probably not bother when the SS arrives. It probably did make a little difference to the running, but it was so little that it was not worth it.
when you rode the demo bike was there much heat from the exhaust on your legs? the bike I rode it was very noticable below 70 km/h and not so much out on open road doing 100km/h.
Compared to my 848 the SS produces no heat!
Ditto compared to my Panigale!
Picked up my bike today with the standard exhaust and akro full system map and no heat from the rear exhaust so all good

@Triple S and @oldndumb

Some chaps went out of their way and posted some decibel recordings comparing the standard and akra slip-on.
Any chance you could do that for the full system.

Akra slip-on

akrapovic Slipon Sound measurements.
Using Niosh SLM app and holding the iphone near the back edge of the back tire on the slipon side. In the driveway out of the garage.

- Measure sound during idle = 94 DB
- Measure sound at 2000 Rpm = 98 DB
- Measure sound at 3000 Rpm = 98 DB
- Measure sound at 4000 Rpm = 102 DB

Standard slip-on
I used the same app on the stock exhaust yesterday. Bike was fully warmed up and I held the phone same place as you, I got the following while I was looking at the screen realtime while revving and documenting the highest value I saw:

- Measure sound during idle = 90 DB
- Measure sound at 2000 Rpm = 93 DB
- Measure sound at 4000 Rpm = 96 DB

The full system is not on yet just got the map because I am fitting the pipe myself and wanted it mapped so I dont have to ride it 80km back to the dealer with the full system and stock map I figured it is better to ride home with the up map and stock system.
BTW the ex valve is still connected but stays open and does not cycle at power on.
I have an iphone so can do the db test. Although the bike will be upside down because I am in Australia.
