Hello!
Nice to have found this forum! I'm a soon-getting-old biker (52) who lives in the south of Sweden. Have been a Ducatista for some years. In my youngsters I drove a lot on a 906 Paso, and loved it. Think i did about 20 000 km in one year on that bike.
The years went on, I fell into the dark side and drove a lot of Kwacks, Yamahas and Hondas, especially the VFR. But then, in 2005, I saw the light and bought an 2002 Ducati ST4s.

That has been my companion för 12 years. With a lot of fun, some tears and mostly good amusement on a great variety of roads.
But - I'm getting older, clumsier, not so fast in my movements or reactions.. I realised I needed a bike with ABS and traction control...
So I was looking at the Multistrada 1200S. But, I doesn't like the look, and my wife didn't sit well on that bike. So we tried the new SS. And fell in love.

Now I have sold my old ST to another enthusiast, and I have ordered a white Supersport S, with touring pack. Now I just can't wait until I get it. Each day when the sun shines and it's hot (not so common here in Sweden) I long even more... I almost feel like phoning the dealer each day and ask if the bike has arrived yet... When I got it, I will report some more!
Great to "see" you all!

The Multi comes up often as the option to the SS. I've got a Multi that I've considered selling to get the SS and I think there's one other person who had a Multi and now has an SS.

Come to think of it there's someone on here with a 950 Multi and the SS.

I also was tired of leaning over on my sport bike and my wife was complaining of back pain after maybe a 30 minute ride. We found we would jump from one cafe to another one during the day taking breaks. For Hawaii this is ok but not much good for a mainland rides. This bike is Canyon killer for when I ride alone and comfortable for my wife on the weekend. It was a great purchase and is my first Ducati after riding Japanese bike my whole life.

The multi was launched as a tourer. And for us who wants to travel with a Duc it's not so many other options. I think the multis are great bikes, but they don't fit us.
It's a shame Ducati won't do a "real" sportstourer like the old ST's. I would like a Supersport that is one size bigger, has bigger luggage volume and some 20-30 horsepowers more.
But one the other hand - I had 120 hp in my old Duc, and I never used all of them at once... It is few people who can manage all that power.

Welcome and congratulation.

Like you, my partner and i didn't like multi because too high and power.
My new red 939 S is confortable for me and my half, and has enough power to enjoy.
That is not like my previous vfr 2014 which is perfect for trips but ss is lighter and easier,
This supersport is a swiss knife.

Yep, yep and yep!
Hej Clifford!

You seem to live in a parallel existence!
I too have decided to move on from my ST4S after 11 years & have ordered a white SS with the touring pack!

I've struggled over what to replace the ST with & have tested several Multistradas but The looks always put me off, I could never cherish it!
I came very close to considering the new(ish) VFR, but something held me back....

I had a test on the SuperSport a few weeks ago & really loved it!

You have some great roads & countryside in Sweden (I often work in Karlskrona & Linköping)
The last time I biked there was 1980!! :surprise:
