I had been riding my 1098 for about 8 years. It was an absolutely awesome bike and the experience won me over as a loyal fan of Ducati. My only complaint was that it was tough to ride it at posted speeds here in New England. It never felt comfortable unless I was running it ***** to-the-wall and we all know what that will get you. :wink2:
I've been hoping that Ducati would finally market something more road oriented and ergo-friendly, but with all the soul of their superbikes and my patience finally paid off. I sold my 1098 last month and put down a deposit for a SuperSport S. Well, my dealer called me today to let me know that it has arrived. I can't wait to finally get a chance to experience the joy all of you have been expressing here in the forums! :grin2:
Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes, I purchased my bike from the folks at Seacoast Sport Cycle in Derry, NH. They serviced my 1098 for years and I've always had nothing but praise for Jim and Charles and the rest of the team. They've been great. We are really fortunate to have such a good Ducati dealer here in NH. I live in Bedford, so they're almost right next door. I can't imagine having to travel for hours to get to a dealer like some of the other folks on the forum.
I'll be picking up my new ride next week, which is perfect, because I happen to have that week off from work. If the weather cooperates, I plan on logging plenty of break-in miles.
Hopefully, I'll get a chance to meet some of you in person. Phil, JC and Bw1, do any of you ride the NEDOC or SSC group rides?
