A white Supersport S was delivered yesterday. It has six miles and natch the forecast for today and tomorrow is for rain, but Sunday looks OK for a shakedown. First impression is - What a beautiful bike. I had Akrapovic slip ons as the only option but I'm looking at adding a steering damper. I browsed through the owner's manual last night and Sheesh what a complication, but the DQS is set for up and down clutchless shifts which, so far, is all I was concerned with. And, owning other Ducatis, it took a few seconds to find and use the starter "slide." I suppose you can't call it a button anymore. And having a fuel bar is nice. Is there anything I should be aware of as a new owner.

Thanks

Peter,

Welcome to the forum.

Wealth of information on here. Not too many gotchas out of the gate with the SS, with the exception of Neutral being finicky the first few hundred miles. My suggestion is to get a nice cup of coffee tomorrow morning while its raining and go through the main section and see what topics are popular.

BTW....where in NJ are you? I got my White SS S from Cross Country in Metutchen.
I go jogging every afternoon starting at about 2:30. By the time I hit Scudders Mill Road at about 3:00, I've been noticing a white Supersport go by heading towards Rte 1. Is that you? And was that you on Cross Country's Facebook page? I live in Plainsboro.

Welcome and congrats. There are a couple polls here, so when you get a chance, hit them up. Look forward to your impressions and input.

No thats not me, but I wish it was.

I dont think thats me either on the FB page. They did not take any pictures with me when I went down to finish the payment. I also had it delivered.

I am in northern NJ, Glen Ridge.

I'm a little bit embarrassed about this. I have owned a sports classic and a monster S4RS tri colour. I currently own a 1098R, 1098S, 999S parts unlimited, a PS1000LE, an M821, M1200R, the supersort, a BMW R1100S, and a Honda lawn mower. I'm retired so can afford a bit of whimsy. I started riding in 1971. 46 years! Always BMWs until I saw the Part Smart in a magazine, and never looked back.

That's absolutely awesome! I wish you lived next door to me. I'd just point at your place when my wife gave me grief over wanting a second bike. ;)

Don't be too jealous...my stove doesn't work. But what would you rather have? A Supersport or a baked potato?

Sun's come out. Maybe a first ride and some impressions later today.
