My new custom seat

Finished my new custom seat today I have adjusted the height and shape to suit me specifically, made a new cover to suit the tank guard I had already made. I used a specific alsport motobike grip vinyl. Next on the list is a rear bag and then I have my touring setup all done ?

Have you increased the depth of the seat for touring.
Rear bag, please tell us more!

I have raised the hight by 25mm and therefore reducing the scollop at the back of the seat which allows me to move back by about 70mm which is so much better for me. It has taken 3 attempts till I got it just rite :D:D I now feel I can tuck a little better the new seat cover is supper soft with great grip and I won't have to worry about strapping a bag to it and causing any bamage

on my last few bikes I have made a touring bag to suit the shape and gear I want to take its quite challenging not mention time consuming. (I would much rather buy a rear bag) it needs to carry 4 -5 days of gear(easy as I travel light ) the challenge comes when I have to pack the tent sleeping bag and mattress. I think this time I may buy a suitable bag and modify it

Wow that is a big improvement. Cannot even notice it in the pics. Good job done there.

What's the mattress for, you've been out of africa too long. Mate have you forgotten the devil thorns in Rhodesia, blo0dy 3 inches long those things, but you know you have had a good rest when you don't have to dig them out of your back in the morning.

Haha. How true. I only sleep in a tent at the bike rallies other than that it's hotels for me. Keep the energy for the road, why waste it sleeping on the ground.

A lovely thing. It seems a shame to put the plastic cover over that Tri-Colore on the back seat. :smile2:

I just rode with my comfort seat today for the first time. I assumed I'd have to have it customized, but I'll sit on this for a while and see.
