Hi all,

Just picked up my red Supersport S from the dealer today. My wife surprised me on our wedding day 7/2/17 with the key to my new bike. I'll have to clear out all my current bikes to make room and help recoup money, but it's something I was willing to do to buy a new bike anyways. Currently have a KTM 450 MXC supermoto, ZX6R, ZR-7, and Ninja 250. Can't wait to get passed the break in period and take her for a real spin.

Put 50 miles on it today and love it so far. Handling is sharp and intuitive and the bike feels so agile. Only complaint as of now is how difficult it is to find neutral and the vibration of the mirrors. Sitting at a red light, I was blipping the throttle to try and help the trans into neutral and the bike stalled out. I know some bikes out here in cali have issues at idle due to emissions equipment. Hopefully that isn't a recurring thing.

Trumps to the wifey. She has good taste.
Keep the 450.
Very Nice - Welcome! Not too many wives gifting Motorcycles these days buddy- You are one lucky dude!

The neutral situation gets better after first service (from what I've heard from posts around here) and the mirrors - yeah they suck. Sorry.

I would love to keep the 450. My original plan was to sell all and buy the hypermotard s or keep the 450 and get the Supersport s. If I can sell off enough parts that I've hoarded, I might be able to keep the 450. Here's a recent pic of it. I still have a 6 piston Beringer / Brembo MC brake setup I haven't installed yet. Wasn't to happy with the 4 piston beringer on there now.

Thanks! She's a keeper for sure. riding, like many other things I do, she doesn't agree with.... but she's always supportive of my decisions.
Congrats on the bike...and the wife!! Buy that woman a beer! Welcome to the site.
Which dealer in the Bay Area did you buy your SSS from and how much were they willing to negotiate off of MSRP? Thanks for the information in advance.
Welcome, what a wonderful place to live?

My wife got it from motor cafe in Sunnyvale. The bike is in such high demand that there was little to no negoation unfortunately. They have a wait list there for the bike, but luckily it's on a first come first served basis. They got two in and both sold in a couple days, one of them being mine. My wife was not in the list, but happened to stop by on the right day.
Congrats and welcome!

Neutral gets better with miles ridden!

I've noticed its easier to get into neutral with the bike still moving forward, once stopped, its more difficult, although it does seems to be loosening up. I just crossed 2200 miles. Man, if you get a chance, you should totally take a ride up CA rte. 1, along the ocean, i just rode it a few weeks ago, lots of fun. Also the road that goes from the north end of that, over to the valley, lots of 20 mph corners that beg you to drag footpegs on them.
