I declined mine as well. You have until the day before your Ducati OEM warranty expires to purchase the extended warranty. You should know by then the build quality and expectation of needing the extra coverage.

I can't speak for @wingrider, but I waited 6 full weeks for mine to arrive. Congrats, BTW, @wingrider for the great choice in bikes.

I waited for 6+ weeks for mine to arrive. Red SS and SS S are in readily available here in Atlanta.

Ugh I know, I could have left same day with a red S but I really love the white, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!

Welcome and congratulations. My dealer never mentioned the extended warranty I didn't know about it until I read your post!! Interesting?

I don't know if it's the same in all countries.
In France, Standard warranty is 2 years. If you choose extended warranty in the month after purchase, it's around 200€/year for the extended warranty.
If you take it at the end of the 2 years , it's much more expensive, around 500€/year if I remember correctly.

Not sure it's the same as the extended warranty but mine offered maintenance insurance, unfortunately only upto 30 000km. At 30k is the mother of services and when I asked if the 30k will be covered I literally got a blank face. In other words, if you have nothing good to say then say nothing....so I gave an equally blank face when asked again if I am interested.
