how big is your image file?

Any error messages?

Lee
Hi Lee - the images are about 9-10 MBs, and as far as I can remember, the error was regarding "Invalid Security Token Error", contact the administrator. I may try reducing the file size and uploading later tonight, however it would be best if I knew what is the largest individual image file size that I can upload?

If I just go to "choose files" and try to attach, nothing happens
Just did a test and got the "Insert Images" icon that sits just above the window where you type your post to work. It seems to be the same as other forums I'm on. You have to first upload your image to a separate hosting site, I use Photobucket.

Once the pic is uploaded to Photobucket choose the 'Share Photo' link (I always use Direct) in Photobucket, and then copy and paste that address into the URL in the little window that opens when you click on the Insert Images icon.

Here's a picture of the other bike I've been considering using that method just to demonstrate it works .....

I just tried posting some pics and they were all rejected due to their size. I don't have this problem on any other forum, so perhaps you can up the photo dimensions? I ended up posting them on Photobucket (which I hate) but that was the only option as I am not going to spend 10 minutes resizing photos so I can post them....

Hey guys,

For the post count, I don't see anything on the back end or on the site regarding a requirement of x amount of posts to be able to have more access to features or areas of the site. Typically it's about 3.

As far as the maximum file size goes, I've attached the following chart that shows what are the different file types and sizes you can attach:

Also, if you don't like Photobucket, the built in option for attaching an image should work fine when you go into "Advanced" mode within your reply box, upload the image you wish to post within the paperclip icon and once you've completed that, you're then able to go ahead and insert the image into your post.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Cheers,
Natalie

Photobucket is still down for many folks.

Amazing that a simple power outage could wreak this much havoc on the customer experience.

Although I'm guffawing over a first world problem, it's not a stretch to imagine first world solutions to data preservation when you're in the online data business for immediate customer access and retrieval.

I'm betting that back up generator system proposal someone made a few years ago at Photobucket is getting dusted off.

So is that the difference between a thumbnail and a pic in the post? When i upload a pic and attach it via the paperclip it is always just a thumbnail. i see posts others have done where the pic (not a thumbnail) is in the post. Is it because they are using photobucket or something like that and not attaching via a forum attachment?

That is correct. To get a full size image it must be available on a website. You click on the little mountain icon in the toolbar at the top of the message window and paste the URL of your picture into it.
Attachments however, are always shown as thumbnails.
