Sat Nav mount.

I've a Garmin Zumo 595 which I want to use on my Supersport. Answers from Ducati suggest that they have no plans to provide a factory mount. I've used Ram mounts in the past but after having a factory fitted unit on my BMW I prefer a better mount.

With this in mind I've been looking as to what I can do to provide a more permanent home at least for the cradle. I have a friend who has an early DVT Multi and he has a great Ducati system with an adjustable mount on that. The original mount on the DVT prevented the fitting of the Ducati tank bag, so he modified his, I've pinched his idea to an extent. So I ordered all the parts I felt I would need from Ducati which are all still available, and now have a great looking sat nav mount. I've had to make a sandwich plate as the 595 mounting holes have significantly different centres to the Garmin unit sold under the Ducati brand.

I used a piece of 6mm aluminium plate and used the two inside clip-on mountings with longer bolts and stainless spacers and washers.

One picture shows the view from a seated riders viewpoint. So I now have an adjustable angle sat nav. Just need to get it wired up now.

Great work Steeve. Can you still see the instrument display while riding?

It looks factory!

Yes I made a template in plastic and put in a row of holes for the cradle holder so I could move it forwards and backwards to establish the optimum position. So I have a complete view of the instrument panel. With the adjuster I can also alter the angle that the sat nave screen sits at. With the sat nave removed and the Garmin blanking plate fitted it looks very 'proper'. Quite pleased with how it all turned out.
