Email I received today from SC Project regarding any upcoming exhaust systems for the SuperSport:

Mike,
In approx. 4 to 6 weeks the factory will release a slip-on exhaust both de-cat and road legal. A full system is not being developed for the Super Sport.
Thank you

I wonder how they do a de-cat exhaust without doing a full system, given the SS design?

Mid pipe from where the cat used to be and then to the muffler. Similar to:

The SC pipe looks good.
Two things to keep in mind. First, the exhaust valve delete will need to be addressed, and a new map will be recommended. The DP map would address both concerns but do not know how that could be obtained.

This look I like a lot. Thanks for sharing your email. SC in Italy wrote to me in march stating may/june month, pleased to see that hasn't changed.
Seems the pillion footrests will have to go if this is any indication of the SC solution

Agreed, that's one of my concerns too. Investigated the power commander and dyno tuning but that is a very expensive option and I don't actually need more power anyway. Wondering if the re-map kit by ducati will do the trick.

Exhaust for the horizontal cylinder is spring loaded, exhaust for the vertical cylinder is clamped. They likely intend using the existing header pipes with the already mounted nuts / flange for the two lambda sensors.

Yes, it would. However, lots of luck accessing the tune. I located someone who could get the Akra full system for me for about a $1000 less than directly from Ducati. But he could not provide the DP tune. Even though I have over a ten year relationship with my dealer (I've fabricated and modified tools for them and in turn I have had access to their Ducati tooling) when I asked if they could do the DP tune load for me they said the system would not let them do it without an individual license. The older Ducati ECUs have been hacked and there are several units commercially available which will remap them. So far, no one has hacked the new ones.

As far as an exhaust valve delete triggering a light, HealTech makes dongles to take care of that.

A Dyno tune would be better than the DP tune because it would be unique to the subject bike. It would require either a DynoJet PCV , or a RapidBike, or equivalent.
I want one of these and can't wait for it to come out. One LARGE problem though. My dealership said that, unless they developed it through Ducati and got the Ducati blessing on it.....putting one one will void the warranty. And, not just something to do with the exhaust, but will void the entire warranty. Yikes.

I may have to wait 1 year and 9 months before I can get one of these set-ups. :(

OK, where did this half fairing design come from?

There is so much wrong with that photograph that I don't even know where to start debunking it. The fact that it is clearly a photoshop by someone who doesn't know anything about Ducati motorcycles is where I would begin questioning the credibility of the source; followed by the fact that they don't even know how to use Photoshop very well. Once their credibility is questioned, everything else you see goes out the window.

Yeah i agree but there is an evolution in this forum and older posts are what we had before the SS was released to the market
My brother received a similar email from them though they told him it was coming out this fall.

I just got this response from SC corporate about the release date for a slip-on for the SS:

Dear customer, yes we confirm.
We think to be ready maximum in September.

Regards
The suspense is killing me. My response...

"Dear customer, thank you for your email.
Yes sure we are working to the motorcycle but is something that it will be ready probably in autumn/winter."
I'm also in for an other system if I buy the 3S. So I send them yesterday an email and the reply:
"Dear customer,
The specific products will be available soon on our website."

So for all of us, some waiting...
Well I hope it's decent otherwise there are going to be many disappointed owners. Other than the SC it seems competition werkes USA have something coming soon.

Yep.

No way I'm fitting a decat exhaust without an ECU map available.

I've done a decat a couple of times before and know with the right map the engine would really respond. But at this point I'm having second thoughts about the environmental impact. My VFR 1200 belched out some nasty stuff.

So I kind of hope the performance is good out of the box. We'll see; I haven't picked it up, yet.
Once you decat the bike you'll need an ECU map or something like a Power Commander. The big issue is the bike will run lean, which invites other issues down the road.
Termignoni advise that their exhaust will be presented at EICMA. They don't say what type it will be.
