Hi guys,

as already written I have rebuilt my supersport to 1200 cc.
The engine is built in and runs well. Now I'm waiting for my Rapidbike EVO ECU, because the engine runs way too lean.
Next week it goes on the dyno:wink2:.

The engine Monster 1200 engine has the following modification:
1098 RS crankshaft with titanium connecting rod
1098 RS kit gearbox (dry clutch)
1098 R camshafts
Pilstale High Compression Piston
Monster 1200 R cylinder heads
Monster 1200 R injection

The Arcapovic exhaust system fits without any adjustments.

greetings
Flo

Nice, did you have to do any modifications to mount the engine. I can't imagine the mounting points being the same measurement.

Excellent work! This has my attention...

Very interested to find out what you had to modify/replace to complete the swap.

Well done,

Congrats. I looked at converting the top end but found it will not work. Putting in a 1200 monster engine was always possible but couldn't find one locally. To import a 1200 engine will be extremely difficult due to obtaining a police clearance in both countries. Well done, I'm jealous.

Did you use the 1098 block or a monster 1200 engine block?
Do you think you'll get more than 160hp. With the lighter crank and 56mm throttle body, it should achieve it easily. Looking forward to the dyno results. Will you be changing to the 525 drive chain and sprockets.

Did you consider the strength of the crank case. A problem that's prevalent with the 1098 case is that it cracks due to vibration from the crank, just wondering if 1098 case combined with the 1200 bore pistons will exacerbate the vibration and crack an unstrengthened case. The roller bearing on the cranks end is more prone to cracking the case than the journal bearing on the SS case.

VERY well done...and quickly!! What was the prep time and install time? Seems like you just introduced yourself a little while ago.

It looks like a great mod, I hate to think what the insurance companies in the UK would think. They try and double the price for an exhaust change:frown2:

Looks like the engine was on hand. Times like these I regret living in Africa.

The Monster engines are not easy to find in Germany. Have bought one with engine damage. Everything else as crankshaft, piston I had in stock
