Mmmm defiantly sounds like your disks but it sounds like a vinyl sound. how many miles have you done ? give it a short slow ride and hold the front break to try and rub it off something caught in-between the break discs. if it was me I would be spraying some prepsol and or break dust cleaner and running it if it didn't go away then I would be worried. keep us posted
Hi Rhino!

its my Wifes bike,(its the white one) he he :).... This weekend we have done aprox 900 km. total km on bike is 400ish. Sound first heard when parking. Same sound after our first long trip, about a month ago.
Waiting for dealer to respond!

Holding in front brake want do much good, its the rear. The sound is "rubbery" like a seal, maybe theres a loose seal arond main bearing ?. Sound disappear when bike cools off.

Personally, I would not be riding anywhere except straight to the dealer. While it doesn't sound catastrophic, it's still not right. Have her checked out and let us know what the diagnosis is.
Dont worry be happy

it is the machining pattern on the disks and it will only do it until it wears in, the fronts do it too, my monster 1100 evo used too do it when new at 47000k it doesnt do it any more, my Supersport does it any time I move it with the engine off .Just saying

And mine makes a small amount of noise...but not like that. That noise almost sounds like rubber against rubber...not a metal grinding sound.
No idea really but I wouldn't risk riding too far until you've found out what is causing it
how close is the chain under the swing arm to the sensor cable protectors...kneel down and you'll understand what I'm asking, further, check the protector on top of the swing arm..there's a soft-ish plate protecting the traction control sensor cable under the swingarm and the swingarm protector on top of the swing arm. Could be your chain is too tight. I get a similar noise when the wheels are on the ground but in your video the wheel is lifted. I put it down to the great rosso III tyres and their superb friction coefficient but mine is probably the chain rings.
I'd suggest pulling the rear brake pads to see if the sound goes away. If it does, de-glaze the pads and rotor.

Does the sound decrease as you gently apply the rear brake, while pushing harder to keep wheel spinning at the same rpm?

Or, does the sound remain the same even when applying rear brake and spinning?
can you simulate a wet run for the brakes? few drops of water of the disc near the brake pads and then youll know if its the disc/brake pad grinding. doesnt sound like it though, especially at that speed.
if not this then its probably the bearing. did you go over a bad bump?
Hi guys!

Thanks for the attention :) I have not heard from the dealer yet, will call them today.
I think I should have tried too apply rear brake when spinning rear wheel. But the grinding Rubbery sound only appears after a long ride......
I`ll keep You posted.

Well just checked the ss for the exact same noise as on the you tube that it had when new but now at 5500km no noise if there is any cross hatching left on your wifes disk that is what the noise is here is a pic of my front that was making the noise but clearly all of the cross hatching has worn off so no freaky deaky ducati mouse squeaks.just enjoy it while you can soon enough it will be gone unless she stops using the back brakes!

TripleS, cross hatching?

And she doesnt use the rear brake, but the sound is like a rubber seal, being dragged....How can a brake pad and disc make that sound? hmm very strange indeed:)
Side sounds like the caliper pistons are stuck. Go see the dealer.

Take a short ride, if the rear disc heats up without you using it then that's what it is.
how on earth would seized caliper pistons make this sound. no way. :)
Talked to my dealer today.

They say they sometimes get the same Noice when they "wheel" new bikes from workshop to the showroom floor. Video is beeing forwarded to the Representativ in North Europe.
Will see :)

Showroom floors are shiney and rubber tires make that noise, bikes and cars alike...thats not news or what yours is doing. That is of no help whatsoever!

Not a normal sound of disk and pad, however...

Cross hatching...how the disk comes from the manufacturing process before it's bedded with the pads.

If she doesn't use the rear brake, it's not bedded yet.

Can you post a close-up pic of the disk...(to see if the cross hatch is gone)?

Come on !!! I need to know the answer, before it just disappears on its own and the only time we mention it is at the annual Christmas party ( Remember when #Duracell had that strange noise coming from the rear brakes of his wife's bike did we ever find out what that was ? No was probably that cross hatching thingy that #Triple S was going on about)
