Tank bag

The tank bag subject has come up now and again in the forum, some prefer no bag, some prefer the magnetic type. I opted for the flange type. It's a Givi manufactured item but I went for the ducati label, simply coz I don't want the givi label on my bike.

Sits nicely on the lockable flange above the tank without any touching of the paint work, it is loaded in the pic with wallet, keys, sunglasses, phone and a few allen keys to do the installation at ducati. Probably about 1.5 kg inside.
I think anything higher than this might be a problem for one's chest or chin, I never measured how high it is to the top of the bag but I am only 1.75 m / 5.9ft and when I wanted to check the phones gps I had to pull back holding on with one arm to view the phone properly. It has a rain protected clear pouch on top for the phone. I use a samsung S6, and it fits, anything over that dimension then I doubt you will get it in. I had to remove my phones cover for it to slip inside the transparent pouch.

@Hugg727
It's only the USA and Canada that get the super large stickers on the frame. On mine I have some smaller one's indicating the tyre pressures.

hey where did you get those wheel stickers. they look bad ass!
Amoslws,
Thanks for the great pics. I too, am trying to find storage solutions that I like. I'm seriously considering the tank bag, but does the tank look horrific when the bag is not installed, i.e. the flange is visible? The flange appears to be much less attractive than the filling cap and I imagine you don't take the time to remove the flange when you aren't using the tank bag.

TBH whenever I ride I have the bag on. I use it for phones GPS and music and wallet etc. I ride with a race suit and it has no pockets so the bag always comes into very good use. Also I care more about being practical than I do about what others think how I look so a tank bag suits me fine. In south africa we have petrol attendants and they are happy to hold the bag while I stick the filling nozzle in.
