This bike just gets better.....

First service done, over 700 miles on the clock using the 7000 rev limit, and occasionally a little more.
I just love this bike, I've had a few characterless bikes recently, most noticeably a Honda and a BMW. This bike really has character, no smooth as silk in line four but a snarling popping L twin that you have to work. Mine has the Akra slip ons and at higher revs it just howls, the handling is so confidence inspiring, it looks gorgeous and there'll be the opportunity to personalise it.

I'm so glad I decided to pull the plug as soon as it was announced last year. So far no regrets other than I need to get out more and more on it.

This is good news for the rest of us. Looking forward to long term reviews to see how it performs as the miles crank up.
I'm with ya brother. Sitting at 400 miles right now but am loving it more and more as I ride. Took me a bit to get it wired I must admit...but I think i've got it now. Very few complaints. Would love to know what that rattle is upfront, but it doesn't affect the ride at all :) The Ducati sound the the torque of that desmo twin :) Can't wait to try some high RPMs in the future :)
Picking mine up Tuesday!
I have to say, i'm on just over 500 miles and have to agree, it just seems to get better!

and from the perspective of a stock exhauster, i love the noise burbles and backfires, especially the 'angry-ness'... it certainly turns head in town :D

Agree. Seems like the stock exhaust has gotten louder the more miles I put on the bike.

I get children in town putting their fingers in their ears, dogs on leads pull away of they're in a car going mental in the back. It may be Euro 4 but it isn't quiet.

Wait till the aftermarket starts release products.

I think they can be too loud, especially tiresome on a several thousand mile journey.

I was wondering about that, my dogs are used to me being on bikes and it never bothered them. Now they bark at me and even charge the bike on occasion. There must be something unique about the frequencies it's transmitting. 3 trained german shepherds.
I've had the bike for a little over a month now. I finally hit 600 miles ( l don't get to ride as much as I'd like too lol). First service is done and I'm ready to advance from urban mode to touring mode! Don't know what to expect but I'm excited. This is my first Ducati and so far I'm loving it. A couple of my friends who've never been on a Ducati either have tried out my SSS and love it too!

I hit 598 miles last night, lol

Yes, it does get better with each day that I get more comfortable with it. I have been sticking to sport mode with the DTC @ 4 & ABS @2.

I concur, they are good settings.
Ok, will lower from DTC 5 to DTC 4. I'd love to take it to the track, never done so though. Do I have to do any suspension settings before I go? Thanks.
My dealer, which is a former pro pilot, said to me to just put it one step harder, maybe go for 2 after testing it.
One step being 3 click on the suspension setting (ohlins).

Don't forget to lower tires pressure too.
