TWM Special Components Quick Action Fuel Caps

TWM SC is an Italian manufacturer who specializes in high quality CNC aluminum and Carbon Fiber products for motorcycles. TWM is a part of the Marchesini family and that it self can attest to the quality of products which they produce. Also the manufacturer of the Ducati Performance line up of products, such as gas caps, levers, oil caps and more!

Same exact gas cap base as the Ducati Performance gas caps, since TWM is the manufacturer for some of the DP products, including the gas caps. DP has a different design center handle but functions the same way.

No other manufacturer will guarantee their quality to the level which TWM does. Superb anodized finish that will not fade and withstand sun, fuel spills and more! TWM was the first company to invent the "quick action" center cap system which is often imitated by others.

Caps listed here are all 1/4 turn QUICK ACTION caps. They do not have keys or locks. You'll just push down, twist 1/4 of a turn, and ready to fuel up!

Made in Italy.

These are the same exact gas caps you see being sold under the Ducati Performance brand, with the exception of the center cap design.

You can easily remove the Italian flag sticker off the fuel cap if it doesn't suit your taste.

Look cool, but if I had that I would never have any fuel left if I parked on the street here :)

Most people don't know you got to push down and twist it to open the cap. 0:)
Bought a TWM fuel cap today. Bought all black to be inconspicuous.

Tired of taking my key in and out of my ignition several times a week to get gas.

Hopefully the outer fuel cap ring is flat making it compatible with my RAM tank-mounted phone mount.

I have been thinking the same. Tired of pulling the key out. It also wears down the spring loaded shutter on the ignition until eventually it doesn't close the keyhole and it then fills with dirt and grime.

From TWM, don't think so. You might be thinking of Ducabike's version that has a small CF 'key' that attaches to the gas cap's knob.
Is the cap itself attached—for example with a wire—or do you have to find somewhere to put it while refueling?
Have to find somewhere to put it. That put me off from buying it a while back but like Amos said above, taking one's key in and out of the ignition wears out the spring-loaded shutter. I can put the fuel cap on my iPhone...it's perched at a flat angle right in front of the fuel cap.
Just make very sure that your tank is vented. Venting is normally done via the cap, going into the evap canister. I remember seeing at least one Honda RC51 tank that had bulged out because the new cap did not vent. I guess you could do as one guy did.... drill a tiny hole in the cap.

I think a Race Gas Cap is a solution looking for a problem. In return, it creates more problems than it has solved. But, to each their own.

The SS tank is vented through the evap charcoal canister on the left side of the airbox. There is no need for drilling the cap. I am unsure about overflow with the cap though. Does it replace the little grommet you see when you open the OEM cap. That grommet feeds the outlet pipe which comes out the bottom of the fairing.
I snipped extraneous information from the original post but the below info addresses any concerns I might have had.

I assume the vent is at the 3:00 position.

Not sure how much of the gas cap assembly gets replaced, but like I said, make sure the gas tank is vented.

This pic is of my 848 Sf, tho.

Thanks @Motomillion I ordered a red one!
Ordered just this past Friday and received multiple notifications via e-mail (sale confirmation, shipment notification, shipment progress update and delivery notification) before delivery today.

TWM Quick Action cap is nice. I'm thinking this is going to be a great accessory for those of us pumping fuel every other day of the week.

Regarding breathing, TWM cap instructions show the supplied tube (small clear one) going down the OEM breather hole so I think this has been thunked.

I just loaded up the bike with the dealer (home service!) for the layshaft seal warranty work so I'll have to do the installation when I get the bike back.

Was a treat seeing my bike loaded up next to a Panigale V4 out for delivery to a veterinarian. Beautiful paint scheme.

I could be wrong but I didn't see too many Mandarin parts on that bike.

Ohh, yeah...love it when a new part fits just right.

Because I carried forward the RAM tank mount, I had to use the longer forward bolt RAM provided, the one at 12 o’clock.

The small o-ring retaining rings TWM provides to hold the spacers in place is a great idea.

The large OEM rubber nipple easily comes off. The TWM hose slides right down. If it binds causing the tube to kink when you lay the cap flush to the tank, trim the TWM’s breather hose with some sharp scissors.

Fuel cap action is simple and clean.

I’ve browsed YouTube a lot lately and this is the another video by Moto Dutchman profiling TWM products (on a Ducati 1299) I’ve stumbled upon. Knowledgeable and good advice.

So, this time I have to ask... are you on this forum?!?

I hope you guys got the mentioned discount code.

It does indeed appear to be vented. It's light, and good looking also.
