US Delivery dates???

Greetings!

Now that we have had the demo weekend, has anyone received word from their dealer about when they think customer bikes will start to arrive? My dealer told me that he thought I should see my bike in a few weeks, though I don't believe he actually checked the computer at all.

Projected delivery

I was told yesterday that mine would be here in "a few weeks." The dealer said probably two. I'm thinking more like four with the Italian factor.
Thats what i was told in Cali as well. 'Few weeks', im hoping 1-2
I don't want to bug my dealer too much, but I was told a "couple weeks" also. Meanwhile, I'm seeing others on here (from the US) that they are getting VIN numbers, or specific dates on when their bike will be prepped once received.
(oldndumb in Florida says his will be uncrated and assembled on Tuesday, and klev in San Diego says he got notification of his VIN).

Wonder why the disparity in info from the dealers.
My dealer told me this week that he would know more next week and he said best guess was 2 weeks. Ducati isnt just shipping all of the dealers stock, the pre sold bikes have the priority. This is probably why we are hearing various different reports here in the US. Each dealer is getting different amounts of bikes........
I placed my deposit back in November, and was told I am first in line for when a white S arrives; just seems odd that in the digital age of 2017, that there is isn't a little bit more specific detail. It sounds like bikes are just being made and loaded on a boat and everyone just hopes for the best. When I ordered a car last year, I knew where the car was every step along the way - off the assembly line, at the port, loaded on a ship, the name of the ship (which could literally be tracked in real time in the ocean), the date arrived in port, and date loaded on a to a truck. I know we're not talking cars here, but still - a major manufacturer of motorcycles. Heck - I even know more about the progress of a FedEx package than I do about the whereabouts of my motorcycle.
(and as I proof this message, realizing I sound like a spoiled brat! But still..... I'm just excited for this thing to get here already)

Couldn't agree with you more. Early on in this forum I mentioned several times that the delivery dates people were getting from their sales people were just guesses. Some of the guesses were based on experience and others were pulled out of thin air. The fact is that Ducati does not provide that information to the dealer in real time or in a consistent manner. Ducati needs to understand that their customers are disappointed when it is not provided.
Got a call from my dealer yesterday. My red S arrives next Tuesday the 25th. Will be ready for pick up the next day.
As of this past Tuesday, pickup day for my red 'S' is this Saturday. But I haven't heard anything from my dealer since, so who knows?
So you guys have already sorted out the payment terms and stuff with your dealers???

I am paying cash also but I did ask about the terms to see if "Money is cheap". Apparently it is, but only if you buy any Ducati model BUT the Supersport.

Yes. Don't want to be preachy, but this might be a good time to remind people that they should try to negotiate. The dealer will try to act as though you must pay list but that is not the case. They have wiggle room. If they refuse to budge, do not burn your bridges. Politely tell them you will have to think about it, then contact other dealers to see what they will do. If there are no other dealers, you can always negotiate accessory discounts or free services. Case in point, I was able to net a saving of $975 off the price and accessories. One factor that helped me is that there are several Ducati dealers in Florida. Also a cash payer. The thing to remember is that you never know until you try.
Thanks for the replies... But I don't know if I can throw down min 13k in cash! Probably gonna finance it. Fingers crossed.

I got 19% off on my bike as a company discount.

Ducati discount or the company that you work for?
I'm in Pennsylvania waiting upon a pre-ordered White "S". Of course my dealer has been tight lipped about it's delivery date as well. Why would Ducati send just the demo versions and not both the pre-ordered as well. I would think they'd want as many models on the road to up their sales...best advertising!
The wait continues argggghhh

Wow!! Doubt anyone will beat that. Company part of the Volkswagen group?

Welcome back, I havent seen you post for a short while. :smile2:

I am looking at options too. Would rather finance if the interest rates are not obscenely high.

I was also looking at Ducati Premier Financing option. Looks similar to what BMW's easyride option, but reading conflicting options on this since it is not a traditional financing or leasing option.

Undecided yet!
