Vandemon Side Mount Titanium Exhaust

Hi DdL, I've never owned the stock exhaust, but I understand you need to take off the two end cans and cover. With the Vandemon the rear exhaust section, which is the silencers / crossover and cover, needs to come off. Four bolts and two springs and a lot of jiggling it around. I made the mistake of getting new tyres AFTER fitting the exhaust :LOL:
Ok, that sounds just about as convoluted as the stocker then, but I guess that’s the price to pay for that look (which I do prefer too).

Looks great but 102db is not quiet, however, and 105db is damn loud. This will be a loud system no matter the position of the servo.
Looks like a bit of a contraption honestly? As for how loud it is, 3 dB might not seem like that much of a difference but 105 dB is twice as loud as 102 dB if using the 3 dB rule:

Yup, most people don't realize that so when they see factory at 93db and an aftermarket at 97db they think it's not much different. 3db is a major difference and 102db is quite loud.
…and if I understand it correctly the Euro5 noise limit is set at 77 dB 🙃
(seems impossibly low?)

As someone who’s been living with ringing in their ears, especially bad the past 2 years, partially because they rode motorcycles without earplugs for like 40 years, I would highly suggest starting to wear them. It’s miserable to have a constant ring/buzz, and I only wish I had started earlier.
For real. I have tinnitus since my early twenties (from standing 2 meters in front of the speakers at a metal concert with no ear plugs… 😵‍💫). Riding without earplugs is not an option for me. The actual noise aside, I find I get much more tired during long rides without ear plugs too.

I asked Vandemon. Stealth mode is 97db, power mode is 106db.

What is a stock SS?
The EURO4 regulation says 80 dB and EURO5 says 77 dB so I would assume the SS fulfils those limits.

But, I think it’s all about HOW you measure too. A statical measurement is obviously very different from measuring a drive by at a certain rpm and a certain distance (the latter is how EURO-regulations do it I believe), so not sure vandemons numbers are directly comparable.
