Wow, not bad! Around 193 kg fully fuelled, that’s a lot lighter than the current Pani V2, and almost 20 kg lighter than the SS.looks beautiful too, better than its big brother since it doesn’t have the goat chin in the shape of winglets. Only thing I’m not such a fan of is the exhaust, looks like the designer forgot that the bike no longer has a single sided swing arm and had to design that weird contraption of a pipe as a last minute accommodation.

Heres the official announcement:

-edit- price in Sweden is considerably lower than the old Pani V2 which starts at 203 000 SEK/17 350 EUR for the old non S whereas the new 890 cc V2 starts at 172 000 SEK/14 700 EUR and the S-version at 190 000 SEK/16 200 EUR. As a reference, the SS950S was around 175.000 SEK/14 950 EUR.

Weight figures are a little confusing.

- 2024 V2 has a 4.5 gallon fuel tank, and 2025 V2 has a 4.0 gallon tank (it appears).

- 2024 V2 curb weight fully fueled at 4.5 gallons is 441 lbs.

- And if 2025 V2 curb weight posted above is correct at 193 kg (425 lbs), that‘s a difference of 16 lbs from 2024 V2, or 13 if same amount of fuel. (Assuming fuel is about 6 lbs per gallon.)

Did I calculate something wrong, or are Ducati quoted weight savings figures the sum of individual components but not the bottom line?

Hmmmm. Not feeling it 😕 It looks a bit of a mish mash of parts with the exhaust and the black plastic under the tank. Maybe be better in the flesh. Hoping its a 'grower'
At the moment I won't be swapping the 950S for it

Ducati claims a dry weight of 178 kg and 17 kg lighter than the old V2. You’re right that doesn’t add up with previously published specs for the old V2 though,

Agree.

And not sure why they went with upswept exhaust?

Seems Ducati is going for volume, both in terms of a wide spectrum of rider skills, and also across multiple platforms. But I do applaud the weight savings, even the smaller “adjusted” amounts noted, as a significant accomplishment.

“This bike will be instead of the SuperSport,” strategy and Centro Stile Director Andrea Ferraresi told Visordown shortly after the Panigale V2’s reveal at EICMA in Milan, adding, “It’s a replacement for two bikes”.
The SuperSport 950 is still on sale as we write, but not for long - at the end of the year it’ll bow out.

I get moving the pipes so they aren't heating the seat up but yeah, the exhaust looks out of place. The lack of SSSA feels out of place as well.

Overall a cool bike, I see where they were going, but it's not quite drawing me in.

And the weight of exhaust system that high up to the rear...although CAT seems to still be below.

Also, seems difficult to imagine when visually looking at the way the 2024 V2 exhaust is routed, but I feel less heat on my SFV2 than I did on my SuperSport.
