I would’ve liked his completely honest thoughts on the V2. I mean, difficult comparison since he normally rides a bike with almost three times the power and 30 kg less weight but still. I think we will only get some marketing approved message if anything though.

looks like he’s having fun though!

Saw this on my phone today.

Marc Márquez trained this Thursday at the Aspar Circuit in Spain, riding the Ducati Panigale V2 — including the new 2025 version, on which he managed to break the circuit’s unofficial lap record

This was revealed by Ducati’s CEO, Claudio Domenicali, on LinkedIn: ‘To my surprise, I got a call from Marc at the end of the day. He told me not only that he loved the bike’s quick handling, super comfortable riding position, and «electric» power delivery, but also that he managed to lap in 1m12,2 seconds! My team informed me that this matches the unofficial lap record for the Supersport class!’.

Domenicali learned about Márquez’s training session on the 2024 competition version of the Panigale V2 but noted that Márquez also used the 2025 road version since the competition setup is not yet available: ‘I was too curious to hear his opinion about our new baby track bike’, Domenicali admitted.

The new Panigale V2 will have 126hp of power in its competition variant and loses about 10kg in weight due to the removal of certain components required for road legality.

Saw it on one of my feeds as well.

I’d suggest it is Ducati’s marketing people countering the perceived step backwards with the drop in power. A case of here you go, MM93, ride this flat out and if you come up with some good times we’ll tell the world.

MM 93 isn't your average rider and works for Ducati. I don't think your going to have him say anything negative.

* Spoiler Alert *

Some very positive reactions here. Looks like Ducati really nailed their own brief of building a more "all abilities" track accessible and road friendly Panigale. You can really see how wide and high the bars are from the front on vision. Based on the sharp handling, mid-range response and comfort I think it's going to get glowing reviews on the road.

If only they'd built a 110 - 120ish hp fully faired model earlier with Panigale looks and comfortable ergo's and called it, I don't know, SuperSport? 😆 OK, I know the weight makes all the difference and I think our SuperSports will still be more stable commuter / short haul tourers. (He writes as he starts doing the math on changeover on his own SuperSport....)

It’s seems to be a nice bike that’s hitting the mark they were looking for. I agree with Alister that the top yoke looks bad and I gotta say that combined bar clamp/triple clamp was something that turned me off of the RS660 so that’s disappointing. Might be able to get used to it but it’s super cheap looking, imho. I also gotta say I’d rather it be $200 more expensive and 3lbs heavier with a SSSA.

Bummer about the QS issues, hope that’s sorted by the time they hit dealers.

Super light, feels great, sounds like a nice bike, but I do think the R9 might be a better value. Then again a Ducati is never really a good value :)

Little hard to tell what’s hype, and what’s real, at this stage.

About the DQS issue, could it possible be related to synching DQS with variable valve timing?

Weight reduction figures are off too, standard version is about 20 lbs lighter than 2024 V2 according to my calculations.

Will reserve my opinion until I ride one!

Been watching thread for a while and there has been good discussion about like and dislikes.
As a diehard Ducati freak, unfortunately this bike just doesn't do it for me.
I liked it when Ducati released a model, and it made me want to race out and buy one. This isn't one of those.
For me the swingarm and pipes just don't work. The power and torque figures aren't that much better than the SuperSport, yes it will be a quicker bike, but yeah not for me.
Yes, I do understand why Ducati likely chose this path for the future as members have already discussed so I hope it works for them.
Back to the 999 days, one will either like it or not.

I am also going to schedule a ride at some point this summer. Doubt I will go a new bike route this year but, well, you never know....

MCN have their review out and I think Neevesy hit the nail on the head when he says it’s the super sport bike for the rest of us. in his view, it sits firmly in between the old V2 and the SS, much like most on here expected (or at least I did). Still apparently very comfortable and very capable on track. Although noone has had the chance to ride it on the road yet, according to MCN this will likely be a fantastic road bike.

Im not in the market for a new bike but it really does seem like the bike I’d actually want, fixes all the things that the SS doesn’t do perfectly, especially on track It would seem. I’m fine with the conventional swing arm but the exhaust looks like ass, no denying that.
