While I appreciate that the RB Evo will most likely provide an optimum map for the bike it seems to require a lot of time and expense to get there. So, like most owners I guess, I'm happy to use a well developed plug and play setup like the UpMap that Termi are now selling. Although I do realise that it will always be a bit of a compromise.

Derek when you say it will require more time and expense to get there? I get the time aspect, with the RB Evo there will be more tuning iterations because it seams a consensus that auto tune just dumps of bunch of fuel out. But what is the added expense? Is it necessary to add the wide band o2?

Since I haven't got the RB I don't know how much additional expense there is. The RB Evo in the UK costs ÂŁ355, an additional ÂŁ34 for the bypass adaptor if you want to swap back to standard without removing the RB unit, then ÂŁ224 for the Youtune handlebar unit if you want to customise it's parameters on the fly. On top of that it seems to require dyno time to get the best out of it. All of this adds up.

You are correct, all of that is significantly more than the Upmap and seems like it can be a headache for many here. This reminds me of when I had a tuner for my old civic with "autotune". I was constantly fiddling with it and at times had a car that didnt work due to various faults. I ended up selling it. I think a "set and forget" map is looking pretty good.

RB doesn't dump fuel. At 5%-20% throttle in the closed loop region it wants to enrichen, outside of that closed loop region is a mix of enriching and leaning out of the various cells in the matrix. Bear in mind the OEM sets the map very lean in the closed loop region to pass the emissions tests for urban riding.

Are you currently using RB? Would you recommend it?

The map @amoslws has is that good he has the power of the 1200 Monster:wink2:, seriously he does. I'm sure he will be along to tell you how.
>:) It is running nicely too. Was out with two VTR1000's SP1 & 2 this past weekend and the SS performed sweet. Also above 230kph (8000rpm+) I could still see the road. I could not see it before and always had to tap off.
Honestly, my effort needs to be repeated by others so they too can enjoy it.

Apologies for being a bit too hung over to get through all the posts on maps, power commanders, evo's etc.

Is there any general consensus regarding which 'plug and play' option is best for the Supersport? I don't have the time for a dyno tune or anything that requires to much input.

Cheers!

That's a difficult one because investing in more than one can be quite pricey.
For me the rexxer is set lean and for one exhaust setup. Each exhaust will require a different map so the rexxer is not a fix for all.

Bazaaz doesn't offer anything revolutionary for the SS, so that might need remaining on a shops shelf.

The power commander has similar functions to the rapid bike but I don't know how accurate it is, nor have I investigated the price for a similar setup and functionality to the rapid bike.

The rapid bike Evo has auto tune which has been highlighted to want to over enrichen the closed loop region. That can be solved by only using the auto tune above 4500 rpm. For me the rapid bike has made things much easier and works a charm. One or two members have highlighted their dissatisfaction but I believe their connectors were not properly connected. A very few have had issues but the majority are over the moon with rapid bike.

So I cannot think there's an overall concensus regarding the best product.
The best solution if money is no issue, then go for the rapid evo with the add-on My Tuning kit.
