Beautiful win by Binder!

Can’t wait to follow him in 2020.

Too bad Luthi couldn’t close that gap. So close yet so far.
If you had dorna commentary you'll have heard BB's team manager highlight they lost the championship in the first six races because the chassis wasn't ready for Binder. Understandably speculative but I feel Binder will have won this championship if that first chassis was right. Anyway, next year he'll be other people's problem.

Mir took out Zarco when he was doing so well. Big shame. But Zarco is proving to Honda he can ride their bike.

FQ, seems his fueling wasn't right. Maybe the wrong map selection. To be considered a threat you have to win races. Today wasn't his day.

Rins, ever consistent, always a pleasure to watch. Possibly a big threat next year if suzuki sort out that top end speed.

Rossi was hanging on a thread, best result he's had in a long while. Still very popular in Malaysia.

MM, clever move in the first corner gave him a massive advantage. Still a knob though.

Dovi, his soft was starting to fade at the end but he gave a valiant fight for the podium.

Vinny, you biscuit. Yamaha are so happy with that win. I was a bit worried, maybe there was a Philip Island repeat on the cards but Vinny pulled it off nicely.

Yeah, I thought that was humble transparency from BB’s team manager. It will be nice to see BB move up next season.

Big congrats to Viñales and Yamaha for the win...they’ve needed it.

FQ got eaten alive but that’s to be expected since he’s still in his first GP season. Good things are in the future...he’ll have great confidence next season. I’m a big fan of FQ....I think he’s a good kid.

Bummer about Miller’s slip from a potential podium.

Agreed about Zarco...good to see him happy again. Was really hoping he was going to secure a solid spot in the Top 10 just to snub, albeit indirectly, JLo. But Joan Mir obviously messed that up.

Regarding JLo, he didn’t even show up on the left side stats until several folks crashed. I can’t believe HRC is going to keep him on board for 2020. Talk about dead weight. I think they should cut their losses, buy him out and pick up somebody else. If I were Puig, I’d consider taking a chance on Alex Marquez.

Too bad about Cal’s crash.

I lost a little respect for Rins....he’s consistent alright, consistent in sloppy riding and bumping others. I still think he’s a good young man but he’s got to smooth out his control in the corners.

Good race....hard to believe the season’s almost over.

Going to try to make it to at least one race in 2020. Was planning on COTA but might not be back in the US still. Might try to make Catalunya or Mugello.

Over the years, I'm also surprised MM still has his front teeth.
I want to see Zarco in top 8 and FQ win his first Motogp today in Malaysia.

Naturally I want BB to win Moto2 with Martin in 2nd. Alex Marquez finishing around 15th will also do.
Zarco was right there until Mir took him out. Marc finished as expected.

I'd bet the Zarc is on a Honda next season and with a lot of new spec stuff if not a factory ride.

Not going to quote myself to reference my last post but I retract my statement that Rins is consistently sloppy....that’s quite untrue. He is a very smooth rider but he does seem to be bumping into others quite a bit lately and that’s not good.

Mugello and Catalunya are the two I'm wanting to attend in 2020. Need a few stars to align....Allegedly soon but I don't hold my breath.

I’m not sure I’d pin that incident squarely on Mir. As it was, Zarco was lining up a move on Miller and by doing so left a gap which Mir took advantage off. When Zarco returned to his previous line, Mir was simple there and neither could avoid the other. In fact, Zarco went to apologise to Mir after the race for what happened, so surely he at least didn’t blame Mir for it. Racing incident in my opinion.

Thanks for the update. I only saw the replay from Miller's bike. It looked like Mir made a brave move from nowhere and took Zarco out. I don't think Zarco even saw him. I think it was a "racing incident" in any event.

Closing out the 2019 MotoGP season will be the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain.

Dates are 14/15/16/17 NOV

The Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana was completed in 1999 and held rounds of the MotoGP and Spanish Motorcycle Championships in the same year. The Cheste track has several layouts, running anti-clockwise with varying lengths. MotoGP events are held on a 4km track comprising of five right handed corners, eight left handers and a 876m straight. Although the track is regarded as quite small, the pit complex contains 48 garages whilst the stadium style grandstands can seat up to 150,000 spectators. The circuit layout which allows all parts of the circuit to be seen from any stand helps to create a unique atmosphere enjoyed by Spanish and international riders alike and as the last race of the season there is always a party feeling to the Grand Prix, which was voted best GP of 2005 by IRTA.

This time of the year gets very boring for me once Motogp season ends and the mrs finds all sorts of terrible tasks for me to do around the property. I prefer sipping GnT's around the pool but she feels her ideas are better.
Roll on 2020 season. I'm more looking forward to 2021 because there's going to be a lot of changes with teams and riders. Maybe Rossi will be gone and FQ wins his first motogp. I'm a VR46 fan but there's so much younger talent wanting to come up so I feel some of the older guys need to retire. Namely JL, Dovi, VR, Crashlow, Iannone to mention a few.

Having been to the circuit, I feel the description above gives the track too much credit. It's true that it's possible to see most of the track from most of the grandstands, but there's still something missing. Admittedly I've only been to one other GP, at Sachsenring, but that was a whole different thing, both the track itself and the people attending. That said, I did get some nice photos when I was there. Just like this year, the championship was already settled by the time the Valencia race took place. Stoner won the race unthreatened, if I'm not mistaken. Rossi had won the championship. Anyway, got some nice photos.

Below, Simoncelli battling Mika Kallio for the 250 win. Great fight, though unfortunately Kallio crashed in the second to last corner. Rossi in a rather lonely third place, and finally, the initial part of the race, with some oldtimers, like Capirossi on the Suzuki. Back then Lorenzo was running the nr 48. Also an unknown Pramac rider on the short back straight.
